Growing Food and Justice
Special Guests: Growing Power
SUNDAY, August 17
6:00 pm
Creating a just world, one food-secure community at a time...
that's the vision of Growing Power, and urban agriculture organization that supports people from diverse backgrounds, and the environments in which they live.
They do this by helping to provide equal access to healthy, high-quality, safe and affordable food for people in all communities.
Join us on Sunday for Spiritual Practice at 6:00pm to learn how one organization, Growing Power, puts their hopes and dreams into action in the city.
at our regular location:
1741 N. Western Ave.
Chicago, 60647
Cook at Nanette's house before the Spiritual Practice gathering! Her new kitchen is waiting for us to break it in and house-warm it!
Cooking in stages:
1:00 shopping at the Wicker Park Farmer's Market
2:30-4:30ish cooking (and hanging out) at Nanette's house
6:00 Spiritual Practice and Growing Power at WPGrace
7:00 EAT the food cooked earlier, along with everyone's potluck offerings!
Join in for any portion of the festivities.
Think of it as a lazy summer day in community...just doing food together...
